High School Placement
Our graduates matriculate to fine high schools where they are recognized as strong students who persist in the face of challenge. Our high school placement starts in the spring of seventh grade and continues into eighth grade. This thorough process includes group meetings with parents, individual family meetings with the head of school and assistant head of school, and a high school readiness course for eighth graders. This course focuses on developing leadership skills, coaching for interviews, drafting recommendation letters and other topics. In addition, the head of school and assistant head of school meet with the receiving schools' admissions directors to talk about each child and their fit for each school. In the fall, Berkeley Hall also hosts a high school fair on campus for seventh and eighth grade students and families to connect with high school representatives.
In 2023 and 2024, approximately 90% of graduates were accepted into their top choice of independent and parochial high schools. A vast majority of our graduates go on to honors class placement and many receive merit and need-based awards as well.
